From Staff Assistant to Legislative Correspondent
Amy Jones started her position as Legislative Correspondent for Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC) on January 1, 2026 and now handles six policy issue areas including Abortion, Arts/Culture/Religion, Education, Families, Labor and Employment, and Women's Issues. The promotion represents a significant step up for Jones, who previously served as Staff Assistant and Assistant to the Chief of Staff in Sen. Budd's office from January 2025 through December 2025. In her new capacity as a Senate legislative correspondent, Jones manages constituent correspondence and policy research across her assigned portfolio within the senator's office.
Jones began her Capitol Hill career with an internship in Sen. Budd's office from May 2024 to June 2024, then moved to an internship in Rep. Pete Sessions' office (R-TX-17) from August 2024 to December 2024, before joining Budd's staff full-time in January 2025. She holds a BA in political science and government from Baylor University.
