From Intern to Press Secretary
In less than two years, Caroline Hunt has moved up in the House, transitioning from an entry-level position in Rep. Julia Letlow's (R-LA) office to the role of press secretary for Rep. Michael Lawler (R-NY).
Hunt began her congressional career as an intern for Letlow from September through October 2024, then served as a communications fellow through early 2025. She moved to Lawler's office as a press assistant in January 2025, was promoted to press secretary in December 2025, and now serves as press secretary/legislative aide as of January 2026.
Hunt holds a degree in public relations from Mississippi College.
The Office She Represents
Lawler chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee's Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee and sits on its Western Hemisphere Subcommittee. He also serves on the House Financial Services Committee, where he holds positions on both the Capital Markets Subcommittee and the Housing and Insurance Subcommittee.
