From Liaison to Deputy Scheduler

Chloe Engar has taken on a new position as Deputy Scheduler for Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), beginning July 1, 2026. Engar previously served as Constituent Services Liaison in the Texas Republican's office from April 2025 through July 2026. As Deputy Scheduler, Engar works in Cornyn's personal office and is not assigned to a specific committee.

Engar holds a B.A. in general biology, political science, and government from the University of Arkansas, earned between 2020 and 2024.

Before stepping into the scheduler position, Engar spent roughly 15 months as Constituent Services Liaison in Cornyn's office. Her background in political science and biology provided a foundation for her work in congressional operations.

Legislative Focus Of The Office

Cornyn has introduced several bills across different policy areas. His legislation includes S.5334, which designates the Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic in Lubbock, Texas as the "Lieutenant General Bernie Mittemeyer VA Clinic." The bill has one Republican cosponsor.
