From Staff Assistant to Legislative Correspondent
George Humphreville has been promoted to legislative correspondent for Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), beginning his position on June 1. As legislative correspondent, he will handle constituent inquiries and legislative correspondence for the senator's office.
Humphreville earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Chicago, graduating in 2024. His Capitol Hill experience began in May 2025 when he joined Whitehouse's office as a staff assistant, a role he maintained until March 2026.
The Office He Helps Run
Whitehouse serves as ranking member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and as ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee's Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action and Federal Rights Subcommittee. He also holds memberships on the Senate Budget Committee, Senate Finance Committee, and Senate Judiciary Committee, and is chairman of the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control.
