Why It Matters
Honeywell Aerospace US LLC filed a new client registration with Innovative Federal Strategies LLC, signed Oct. 9, covering defense and budget/appropriations. The company already lobbies in-house, with a registration signed July 16 and a second-quarter report, and retained Greenberg Traurig LLP under a registration signed Aug. 13 covering defense and aerospace. Honeywell Aerospace now has three lobbying arrangements on record.
The Innovative Federal Strategies team is Carl Kime (Partner), Ben Jarrett (Senior Associate/Director of Policy), Letitia White (Principal/Founding Partner), and Sam Swinson (Legislative Assistant). White served on the House Appropriations Committee; Jarrett was a military legislative assistant in Rep. John Carter's office. None of the four appeared on Honeywell Aerospace's earlier filings.
By the Numbers
The only reported spending on record is $90,000 in the second quarter, on the in-house quarterly report. The Innovative Federal Strategies registration, the in-house registration signed July 16, and the Greenberg Traurig registration each carry a $0 filing amount.
Broader Context
The Department of War announced in March that it had reached an agreement with Honeywell Aerospace, which it said would provide long-term demand and enable the company to invest $500 million over several years to expand and modernize manufacturing capacity for critical munitions, according to a department release. Honeywell Aerospace's second-quarter in-house report listed Defense Production Act Title III funding and H.R. 7613, the Airspace Location and Enhanced Risk Transparency (ALERT) Act, as its specific issues. The ALERT Act passed the House on April 14 and, according to Congress.gov, was referred to the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee the following day.
Between The Lines
Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) posted in February that he had spoken with Honeywell Aerospace's president and CEO about defense modernization and the company's priorities for the year. Sen. Ashley Moody (R-FL) thanked Honeywell Aerospace in August for a conversation about supporting a skilled workforce in Florida's space industry. At a Sept. 2 Ways and Means Committee hearing on strategic partnerships to secure critical resources and supply chains, Rep. Ron Estes (R-KS-4) said single-country dependencies are "an unacceptable risk to our defense readiness and economic strength."
Competitive Landscape
A new-client registration for Knexus Research LLC, signed July 10, 2026, lists defense and budget/appropriations as lobbying issues. Traf-Kapasite JV retained Ballard Partners LLC on Oct. 8 to lobby on defense. Sea Dragon Energy Inc. retained DLA Piper LLP (US) on Oct. 8, also on defense.
The Bottom Line
Honeywell Aerospace now has three lobbying arrangements on the federal record: its in-house team, Greenberg Traurig, and Innovative Federal Strategies, whose new client registration was signed October 9 and lists Defense among its issues. The ALERT Act's pending Senate referral and Defense Production Act Title III funding keep its core issue areas active on Capitol Hill.
