From Intern to Staff Assistant

Sebastian R. Losacker-Arenas has joined the House Science, Space and Technology Committee as a Staff Assistant, effective August 1, 2026.

Losacker-Arenas works on the committee led by Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX-36).

Losacker-Arenas holds a degree in international affairs and political science with a focus on international relations and national security studies from the University of Cincinnati. His Capitol Hill experience includes internships in two congressional offices.

He interned in the office of Rep. Brad R. Wenstrup (R-OH-2) from April 2024 to August 2024. More recently, he served as an intern for Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) from July 2025 to September 2025.

The Committee He Works In

Recent bills introduced include H.R.10102, titled the Data Center Community Reinvestment Act of 2026; H.R.10092, which prohibits National Laboratories from admitting certain foreign nationals; H.R.9925, the FRONTIER Act, which creates a federal regulatory framework for advanced AI models that pose catastrophic risks; and H.R.10061, which addresses wildfire readiness and recovery, safe communities, and wildland firefighter safety.
