From Lobbying to Congressional Committee
Kathee Facchiano has been hired as special assistant to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, beginning her role in June.
Facchiano brings more than two decades of Capitol Hill experience to the role. She previously worked as vice president for Van Scoyoc Associates Inc. from 2023 until this year, and she has served in six personal congressional offices in various capacities. Her career spans work with both Democratic and Republican members, beginning with positions as a staff assistant and legislative correspondent for Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) between September 1997 and September 1998, and then as a projects assistant for Sen. Mary L. Landrieu (D-LA) from September 1998 to September 1999.
Her Republican service began in 2004 when she joined Rep. J. Randy Forbes (R-VA) as legislative assistant from September to December 2004. She then moved to the office of Sen. John Boozman (R-AR), where she served as legislative assistant from 2004 to 2006, followed by a tenure as legislative director until 2015. From February 2015 to January 2017, Facchiano served as legislative director and general counsel for Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY). Her most recent congressional position before joining the committee was as chief of staff for Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA), where she worked from January 2017 to December 2022, before entering the lobbying arena.
Facchiano holds a JD from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, and a BA from Tulane University.
