Kiggans also hosted Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz on separate visits focused on infrastructure and health care access.

Kiggans welcomed Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy on August 27 to discuss a $27.3 million investment in Norfolk International Airport's air traffic control infrastructure through the Working Families Tax Cut Act. The following day, Kiggans hosted CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz for visits to Sentara Princess Anne Hospital and Tidewater Community College, where they held a roundtable with local health care providers focused on affordability, staffing shortages, Medicaid policy, administrative burdens and access to care.
CMS previously announced $50 billion in awards through the Rural Health Transformation Program across all 50 states, including nearly $190 million for Virginia in the program's first year.
Earlier in the year, Kiggans introduced the bipartisan Enhancing Skilled Nursing Facilities Act, which would expand the ability of nurse practitioners, physician assistants and clinical nurse specialists to provide certain services in skilled nursing and nursing facilities under Medicare and Medicaid. Studies cited by Kiggans' office found that the number of geriatric nurse practitioners increased by 125 percent between 2010 and 2020, even as the number of geriatric physicians declined by nearly 13 percent over the same period.

Kiggans held a "Team Kiggans Day of Action" on August 29 and participated in the 64th Annual East Coast Surfing Championships the same day. A day earlier, she visited Naval Air Station Oceana with Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Daryl Caudle, where they met with installation leadership and sailors and discussed the base's operations, infrastructure and military readiness.
As chair of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee's Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, Kiggans continues to emphasize oversight of veterans' programs and services.
