State Representative Angie Nixon who could not afford a single television ad, won the Democratic Senate nomination in Florida on Tuesday in a shocking upset.
With her defeat of Alex Vindman, a candidate with establishment backing who raised more than 16 times as much campaign money, according to the New York Times Ms. Nixon who calls herself a a democratic socialist, continued the left’s winning streak.
Ms. Nixon’s stunning victory, and losses by Republicans endorsed by President Trump in several Florida congressional primaries, suggest that Florida may be following national trends.

Former President Donald Trump posted a message mocking Alexander Vindman's loss in the Florida Senate race, celebrating the victory of a Democratic Socialist candidate over a man Trump views as a political enemy.
President Trump posted on Truth Social "SleazeBag Vindman loses tonight to a Radical Left Lunatic," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post Tuesday night. "How cool is that???"
Vindman, a retired Army Lt. Col. who fled Soviet Ukraine as a child with his twin brother Eugene, rose to prominence as a Russia hawk during the final years of the Obama administration's Pentagon. Vindman testified during the first Trump impeachment trial making him a politicla target of the President.
