Lilah Sherr has joined the office of Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-PA-17) as a Legislative Correspondent, according to congressional staffing records. Sherr started in the role on May 1, 2026, making her one of the newer additions to the Pennsylvania congressional staff in the 119th Congress.

Before joining the Rep. Christopher Deluzio office, Sherr built her Hill experience through back-to-back internships. She served in the office of Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY-6) from September to December 2025, then moved to the office of Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA-6) from January through April 2026. Sherr graduated from the University of Virginia in 2025 with a BA in public policy and leadership.

Her time with Houlahan coincided with one of the more turbulent stretches for any House Democrat in recent memory. Houlahan was among six lawmakers investigated by the Justice Department over a video instructing service members that they "can" and "must" refuse illegal orders. A federal grand jury declined to indict the lawmakers in February 2026. Deluzio was also among the six lawmakers who appeared in that video.

Deluzio's Portfolio

As a PA-17 representative, Deluzio sits on three full committees: the House Armed Services Committee, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and the House Veterans' Affairs Committee. He also serves on six subcommittees spanning aviation, railroads, military readiness, seapower, veterans' health, and cyber and information technology.

His legislative activity in the 119th Congress reflects those assignments. On defense, Deluzio has pushed several bills aimed at contractor accountability, including the Best Price for Our Military Act of 2025, which would close a loophole allowing contractors to submit pricing data after contracts are finalized, and the Defense Industry Pricing Transparency Act, which would require contractors to report significant price increases on non-competitive contracts within 30 days. He also introduced the Defense Contractor Competition Act, directing the Comptroller General to assess the competitive effects of mergers and acquisitions in the defense industry over the past decade.

On transportation, Deluzio has sponsored the DERAIL Act, which would expand the definition of high-hazard flammable trains subject to additional safety requirements, and a bill to reauthorize federal grants for sewer overflow and stormwater management. On veterans' issues, he has introduced the Saving Our Veterans Lives Act of 2025 and the Whole Health for Veterans Act, the latter of which was referred to the Veterans' Affairs Health Subcommittee in April 2026.

The most advanced piece of legislation Deluzio has sponsored this Congress is H.R. 1461, a bill to designate a post office in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, as the "Mary Elizabeth 'Bettie' Cole Post Office Building." The bill passed the House and was received in the Senate in December 2025, where it was referred to the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
