From Deputy Chief of Staff to Chief of Staff
Alana Lomis has been promoted to Chief of Staff in the office of Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX-10), stepping up from her role as Deputy Chief of Staff, which she had held since November 2023.
Lomis brings more than a decade of Hill experience to the position. She began her congressional career as an intern in the office of Rep. Tim Murphy (R-PA-18) in 2015, later returning to Murphy's office as a Staff Assistant and then a Special Assistant. She went on to serve as a scheduler for Rep. Mike Bishop (R-MI-8) and briefly as an executive assistant for Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA-14) before joining the office of Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-SD) as a scheduler in 2019. She rose to D.C. Operations Manager in Johnson's office before serving as Operations Director for the Republican Main Street Caucus from February 2023 to January 2024. She then joined McCaul's office as Deputy Chief of Staff later that year.
Lomis earned a degree in political science from Washington and Jefferson College between 2013 and 2017.
