Why It Matters

TD PAC, a Chicago-based super PAC, has concentrated nearly all its reported spending on supporting Democrat Angela "Angie" Nixon in Florida's U.S. Senate special election against incumbent Sen. Ashley Moody (R-FL).

The committee's spending centers on digital advertising ahead of the Nov. 3 special election, a contest rated Likely Republican. Its activity adds another source of support for Nixon in a race attracting substantial expenditures from organizations backing both major-party candidates.

What It Spent

TD PAC has reported $675,000 in spending supporting Nixon in Florida's Senate special election. The spending accounts for approximately 99.8% of the committee's $676,278.52 in reported outside spending across the 2024 and 2026 election cycles.

Who Funds It

The Service Employees International Union Committee on Political Education (SEIU COPE), a labor union PAC, contributed $725,000 to TD PAC. Barbara Stiefel contributed $50,000 as an individual donor.

SEIU COPE's $725,000 contribution exceeds TD PAC's total outside spending of $676,000, meaning the union PAC put in more than the committee has spent to date. The two known contributors — SEIU COPE and Stiefel — account for all receipts on file, with the union PAC representing the overwhelming share.

The Ad Buy

All of TD PAC's Florida spending went to digital advertising through a single vendor. On October 20, the committee paid Technicolor Political $337,500 for digital ads supporting Nixon, then paid the firm another $337,500 for the same purpose the same day, a combined $675,000 in one day, two weeks before the election.

Other Spenders in the Same Races

The Florida Senate race has drawn far larger outside spending from other groups, most of it working against Nixon.

Stronger Safer Nation has spent $10.13 million opposing Nixon and $2.95 million supporting Moody. That opposition spending against Nixon alone is roughly 15 times TD PAC's $675,000 in support of her.

New Deal for All, Inc. has spent $6.49 million opposing Moody, and AB PAC has spent $2.52 million supporting Nixon. TD PAC's commitment, while the largest single pro-Nixon expenditure, still sits well below the scale of the race's dominant outside spenders on either side.
